ACTIVITY - 3
HANDLING OF TOOLS & PRECAUTIONS

Objectives:

• To understand how to handle the tools, which are most used for technical activities.
• To handle a few tools safely with battery operated activities (for safe learning).

Materials Required:

• Wire Stripper.
• Cutter.
• Cutting plier.
• Connecting wires.
• Nose plier.
• Connector screw driver.
• Line Tester.

Uses of Tools:

• Wire Stripper: It is used to remove the insulation of wire.
• Cutter: It is used to Cut the wire.
• Cutting plier: This is used to hold the things and also used to cut the thick wires and cables.
• Connecting wires: It is used to connect the wire, here it is used to practise removing the insulation and twisting the wire stands.
• Nose plier: It is used to hold the things from the small passage, Ex: holding the screw from some hole.
• Connector screw driver: It is used to connect the wire to the terminals.
• Line Tester: It is used to test the presence of electricity.

PRECAUTIONS:

• Caution must be taken while handling sharp edge tools, such as an electrician's knife, Screw drivers, cutters etc.
• Use appropriate tools only.
• While using a line tester, proper care must be taken, not to touch any live wire.

• Mini Screwdriver set ('-' and '+' : small/medium).
• Tester.
• Scissor.
• Tweezer.
• Cutter / Nipper.

• Mini File.
• Continuity tester..
• Mini Soldering Iron.
• De-soldering pump.
• Hand drill.
• Mini Hammer
